Donald Trump appeared on Good Morning America this morning and was immediately admonished by Lara Spencer andGeorge Stephanopoulos for remarks Trump made to Fox and Friends yesterday concerning a National Enquirer article on Rafael Cruz.
When Trump was asked if his choice for a running mate would be a Republican businessman, Trump indicated that he wanted to find a Republican politician who has exceptional experience working with other politicians in getting things done.
“I don’t want to be writing executive orders every three days like our current administration is doing. I need an experienced person who can work with congress and the senate to get things done.”
Trump further stated that he believes that he will be very good on business matters and supporting the military. Speaking about the Military, Trump said that, “I think one of my hidden strengths will be working with the military.”
On the subject of unifying the Republican party, many anti-Trump journalists are still spouting off that they think Trump will ruin and or turn the Republican Party ‘upside down’.
Trump expressed extreme confidence that he believes he can unify the party. However, Trump stated that,
“There are some people in the party I do not want to unify with. Maybe in another 8 years we can talk about it. These people said some really horrible things about me….I really don’t want any part of them.”
When asked about opening up his checkbook for his General Election race and to help the GOP, Trump indicated that he will be spending a lot of money on his campaign and will be “writing some big checks to the GOP.”
Donald Trump appeared reserved yet positive this morning. However, he did manage to throw a barb at Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton, again stating that “she is a disaster.”
Arguably one of the most appealing qualities that draws people to Trump is that he is constantly propounding negative remarks against politicians and the GOP’s leadership.
Mr. Trump appears to many as a solid businessman, who is a messenger for the people of this country. Trump is constantly promulgating that the people of this country must come first – America first.
It will be interesting to see and listen to how die hard Trump supporters and any Cruz supporters who have jumped ship to get on board the Trump Train, will react and or accept a Trump transition from controversial business man to a ‘”get along and here is a big check” political candidate, which many of Trump’s supporters, consider the enemy.
